Quick Fantasy Football Draft Guide

Here’s my take after winning a lot of fantasy leagues and listening to a lot of experts in the field. There are certain players that are undervalued, in my opinion. They will outperform their ADP pretty sure and you can get them at good value.

So here is how I start: In a standard league (1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 WR/RB/TE) I will try to get 2 RB in the first 3 rounds. If I pick first, I probably take Ja’Marr Chase. But after that I try to get Barkley, Robinson, Henry, CMC, Gibbs, Achane, Jacobs, Jeanty, Taylor, Irving. I often take 2 runningbacks first, as there are more wide receivers that I like down the road.

I can most probably get Tyreek Hill, Terry McLaurin or Rashee Rice in the third round. And then there are DJ Moore and George Pickens waiting for me. Xavier Worthy, Chris Olave or Rome Odunze are backup options.

My third RB is usually D’Andre Swift, his ADP is ridicoulous right now and he’s a steal in the 5th or 6th round. If I don’t get Swift as my third RB, I aim for rookie TreVeyon Henderson. After that Jordan Mason is a steal at his current ADP.

Regarding TE and QB I usually wait and don’t take the top guys. At this point, there is still Engram, Hockenson, Kelce, Ferguson, Njoku or Kraft waiting for me. I can also take Goedert, Pitts or a rookie as backup.

Same with QB, I’m not in a hurry there, as I can go for Caleb Williams, Drake Maye or Justin Fields in a later round. And get C.J. Stroud, Tua or Trevor Lawrence as backup.S

Some exceptions: In a superflex league, that will allow you to start 2 QBs, you’ll want to load up on that positions very early, especially in 12-team-leagues, where not every team will get 3 of the 32 startings QBs. If I have to start 3 WR, I have to adapt and take 2 elite WR in the first 3 rounds.

Never forget to check your league rules, how many skill players you have to start, if there are changes to the scoring system.

You can pick your kicker and defense in the last 2 or 3 rounds of the draft. I usually try to draft a kicker with a late bye so I don’t have to worry about that for a while.

What else can you pick in the last rounds of the draft? Well there are some rookies and some sleepers waiting, some of my favorites are Travis Etienne, Trey Benson, Cam Skattebo, Luther Burden, Marquise Brown or Rashod Bateman.
